I See Sea Glass

Last week I stood in front of rows of paint trying to find a color that I would love as much as my black. I found this beautiful Sea Glass in a satin finish. I knew right away that I would love it because it reminds me of a room in my home.
Now I just had to find an item to cover with this delightful color.
Out in storage I found this little beauty.
I had adopted her at the thrift store. She's old, beat up, and even a bit warped (I hope that's not how my kids describe me). I knew that her previous owners wanted someone to love her because before they donated her they slathered her up with a heavy coat of furniture oil. It took forever for that stuff to soak in, that's why she was in storage. But, with a new finish she could come out and enjoy family life in a room that she would relate to in color.
You know, the true beauty of sea glass is that it's a bit rough looking. So after a couple of nice coats of spray paint I covered the little table with some white glaze, to show off the details as well as the wear. Then out came the sand paper to sand the spots that would have worn naturally. And just like a piece of sea glass, the beauty of my newly made-over table came shining through.
And speaking of beauty. . . go visit Chelle and Nikki to see their beautiful five minute projects. Don't forget to leave them a little love note.

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends. Get your spray paint projects ready for Monday, cuz we're going to have a PARTY!!!

That is beautiful! I love that color! So proud of you for branching out. You give all of us black addicts strength to face that big world of color. Amazing!

Love the way it turned out. Most of us are so use to our black that we don't give another color a try. You just showed how great it would be if we did. It's a beauty.

I am so glad someone tried this color. I've seen it but it's hard to imagine it just by looking at the cap. Love it! Will try it soon.

What a beautiful color! I wouldn't have dreamed it could look so lovely on an old table! You are the Queen of Re-purposing and Re-claiming!

When our family first moved to our town we saw a lovely old home that was abandoned for years and subsequently burned out - but the shell was still in tact. We called it the Sad House for a very long time, but eventually it was purchased by our town's charitable trust foundation and restored - painstakingly. Now we refer to it as The Redeemed House because it was brought back from ugliness to beauty.

Your projects remind me of the joy we feel every time we drive by our favorite house - it reminds us of how we have been redeemed through the work of Jesus Christ. We believe from reading Scripture that He is at work in our lives, making us beautiful and preparing a beautiful place in heaven for those who trust in Him!

You have done it again! I love my black but I will find somewhere to use this color. It looks great. Where did you find this paint? Be sure and post a picture of where you are putting the table.

I have eyed this color before (and of course went with black), and I love it! That table is so cute, but I'm pretty annoyed that you just went to storage and got it!! I only have ugly boxes in my storage! :)

I love this color. What a perfect choice. I love blue - Ryder's room is a fun beachy blue and I love the blue you find in Mason jars and old seltzer bottles - those are my ABSOLUTE favorite! The table is gorgeus and such a great find! Oh how I wish I had your storage space! Ha! Ha! Just add that wish to the list won't you please? :o)

I love that color, I was wondering if spray paint came in Aqua, but if not, this color is great and would work. I have a huge project coming up (sometime this millenium) and I want aqua or some sort of blue to be my accent color.

I just love this table, too, it's great. So pretty! I am in need of a little table or cabinet, but I won't find one now that I need one, lol ;)

See you Monday if not sooner ;)
