I love the feeling of being home! I truly enjoy being surrounded by the people I love and the things that make me happy. I am passionate about finding joy in my home---which for me has a double meaning. My home is where I find comfort and discover who I am by using my talents and abilities.
I'm an avid thrift store shopper and collector. I love to create, re-purpose, design, re-invent and build all sorts of things.
I am passionate about helping others find the joy in their homes that I do in mine. And I believe that it doesn't take a lot of cash to do it.

I love old buildings! I love the craftsmanship that went into making a building beautiful. I admire the intricacy in the moldings and trim. I'm amazed at the ornate detail in things as small as an elevator button. And one thing that I'm attracted to is the old tin ceilings. It astounds me that such detail and design was put into something that you would have look upward to notice. It is because of my admiration of the design of ceiling tins that I have manged to acquire a collection of them. I use tins all throughout my home.
I have old, authentic ones.
(The crown molding and the shelf are made using ceiling tin)(We cut apart a tin to make the four small squares)
Ceiling tins are great. I love anything old and paint coming off. My husband always thinks I am crazy! Have you seen where there put tin tiles around the kitchen..b/t the counter and the cabinets...it is so cute! -Sandy toes
I too love tins of all kinds! Love you have have displayed yours. I was just playing with my tin tiles yesterday, I'm trying to get them framed up so I have hang them on my wall. :)
Hello my curious friends, Most of my old tins came from consignment shops. But I've noticed the prices have increased lately, so I won't be buying anymore for a while.
I love old ceiling tins too! I don't have any, but I'd love to have some old authentic ones. I am also impressed at the detail put into such all elements of old buildings and homes, like beautiful vent covers, moldings, and the like.
I love, love, love ceiling tins. Here's my dilemma: I have two very large squares (24x24") and I want to join them to make a frame for a yardlong print. Problem- I have no idea how to do that! I'm up for suggestions and you always have awesome ideas :o) ~Rachel
I love the tin's too...I have a few hanging up in my house and I even have a few shelves that I picked up antiqueing a few years back....I LOVE them :)
I love cieling tins too. At the flea market (I promise I won't keep bringing it up ha!) there was a man there with a ton of tins. One of his pieces took my breath away. He took 16 tins and in 4 rows framed them each in this massive frame that he made from old pieces of wood. Each tin was framed individually within the large one. It was FABULOUS! I hope I am making sense...
I think ceiling tins are beautiful too. They have a character not found in many buildings these days. And you've displayed yours beautifully, as always! Love all the pictures!
I have an authentic one that I bought from Susie Harris/bienvenue blog. I love it. She somehow put a Fleur de Lis design on it (modge podge maybe?) And then drilled a couple of holes and tied a black satin ribbon for hanging. I just love it, I have several pics of it on my blog :)
You are just so gosh darned talented, Joy! I love everything you do :)
My mom used part of some tin to make her ceiling in her bathroom. It looks really cool. She got hers from an old farm house. You are a fabulous decorator.
