Thrifty Family Room Finds

I picked up a couple of goodies at the thrift store that look great in my family room. The first is this clock that I paid one whole dollar for. I placed it in a thrifted tray on the door sofa table. Now hubby knows the time and where to find the remote.
I also found this wool rug for ten dollars.
It's in great shape and the colors and bold pattern are perfect in the family room. And yes, I put a rug, on top of a rug, on top of my painted floor. I'm sure that some people would cringe, but hey, it's my home and I can choose to not listen to "some people."

Wow- you found some great deals! :D I love shopping and thrift stores and junk shops- I always feel amazing when I see a great find! I live in a little, LITTLE town, but there is a junk shop, a (big) thrift store, and a liquidation store. It's the greatest! :D

I have a very similar clock that I got at GW for $4, but it's from Target, not from Howard Miller (I think I see that name on yours).
That rug was the deal of the century, and so pretty!

Joy, the clock was such a good deal! As if you didn't already know! And that rug...very pretty, and I think it's just fine to layer rugs upon floor.

What $10 for that rug…..that’s awesome! I love the BOLD pattern. I’ve been on the hunt for a fun round rug to put under our kitchen table but have not come across one that is in my price range. You go girl not listening to “those people” there are so many rules if you listen to all of them it may stifle your decorating pizzazz. There is one decorating rule that I am trying very hard to break away from but I really love what they do for my space…..faux flowers! I don’t have a lot in my space but have a faux tree and a little berry arrangement. I know it’s a BIG no, no but they add nice color.

That clock is really great, but I LOVE that rug! And what an amazing deal you got! It looks gorgeous. Is there something wrong with putting a rug on top of a rug? I do that all the time!

YOu guys watch TV?? Lol...I just figured you all did crafts, and amazing projects all day long.=)

Jokes, it was nice to see something like I would see in my home, a remote. I long for the days of going back to the states. Because of you I will never look at the dollar store the same way.=)

LOVE that rug!!! I don't listen to some people either ... they just don't have the eye I do... and usually those people end up copying my ideas later on ! lOL
