My husband decided that our home needed another computer. He was tired of sharing with the kids so he bought them an inexpensive used one. I thought it was a great idea until I had to figure out where to put "our" computer. We already have a room in the house designated as "the computer room" where computer usage is easily monitored. The room also contains all of the game systems so it gets quite a bit of use, especially on the weekends. It was decided that the other computer would find a home in the master bedroom---not the ideal place, but again, a place where it's usage can be monitored. However, I didn't want the computer, sitting on a big ol' desk, to be the main focus of the room.
I showed you this petite vintage dressing table that I started working on a few months ago. It was a thrift store find. Unfortunately I deleted the "before" photo of it looking quite sad covered in pastel green and pink sponge paint. I stripped all the paint, gave it a good sanding, and painted it a creamy white. I replaced the hardware with these pretties. And now it sits quite proudly beneath the vintage tin shelves in the corner of the room.

This is a terrific "new" place for your computer! Beautiful job!
Oh how I struggled with having a computer in the bedroom. And I almost did the exact same thing you did. But then DH gave me a laptop for my birthday! Woohoo! Problem solved!
Your table turned out so pretty. Great job.
no kids in the house..
unless the furbabies count!
plus wireless..
means either using the designated "computer room/office..
or the laptop anywhere..in the house or on the patio.
no problems..
love the dressing table/desk..
looks so nice beneath the shelves!!!
warm hugs, laughing smiles..

Great job! Love the table and you found the perfect spot for it! Hugs from Conroe, TX!
The table looks awesome and its the perfect fit!
I LOVE this! It looks wonderful--like all your painted furniture projects. I wonder why any of us ever buy new wood pieces any more?
Great job, Joy! Good for you!
I love that desk, Joy! When I am able to put my home office back together, that is the perfect size desk I want for it! I don't like lots of drawers in desks, I like open bottoms, I don't need a massive desk top, but something with enough room for my laptop and to write things down. Yours answers all of those needs and wants. I think it looks great under the shelves, too.
this puts my plastic folding table to shame...
Very, very cute! Love the new computer table!
Looks like a perfect spot!
I so want that table! Gorgeous job!
I think you did a great job w/the table. A good solution is something we should all be lucky enough to have!
What a great spot for you computer.. it looks so great there.. love the desk... have a great week
Hugs;

How exciting!! The back bottom of the desk needs a skirt (a flat stapled on streached panel) or a bead board back..to cover all the cords!!
We just got a new computer too, except it replaced the old one instead of supplemented it like yours. It's super fast and the big screen shows lots more details in the pictures I view!
Hey - I don't think I told you, but I had the opportunity to appear on Studio 5 last week and do a little blurb about my passion for rug hooking - did you get to see it?
You are amazing! I am not only impressed with your creativity, but also you ability to actually do it! I had quite a collection of furniture I was going to refinish, spruce up, etc. After moving it 3-4 times, my husband finally but his foot down and said nothing "unfinished" makes the truck this last move.
You go girl!
So cute :) Ive got to find something I can replace this ugly particle board desk with!
