A Sweet Little Favorite

These are my favorite Valentine's day decorations. They are vintage cards that belonged to
my grandmother.
I displayed them in a combination of dollar frames and
a, used to be brass but now spray painted white,
vintage frame.
I combined several small cards in
a large frame we made from moulding.
Aren't they simple and sweet?

  6. Gorgeous Joy! I love those old cards...I also was lucky enough to inherit a few from Jeff's (dh)grandmother who passed this last year. They are sooo sweet..from her husband. I need to show mine as well...they remind me of a sweeter and simpler time. You always have the sweetest vignettes. cherry

  18. I'm so happy you posted this. I found a valentine from my mother to her brother circa 1926 or so and thought I would like to frame it. Seeing yours is just the push I needed. Thank you. Mimi

  23. man, I always forget to decorate for valentines! When we were little kids, my mom always had these HUGE V-day parties, and I looked forward to them all year, more than I did Christmas! But as an adult, I forget its coming (I guess being single has a LITTLE to do with that...more like I ignore that it's here rather than forget! hehe)

  26. I like that you painted a brass frame. I see things like that and those shapely brass candlesticks so cheap at the thrift store, and have thought about attempting to paint them, but someone said the paint wouldn't stick to the metal. Did you use a specific paint/primer? Please share your advice!
