Uplifting Words

I have a collection of quotes that inspire and motivate me. I like to surround myself with words that uplift my spirit.
I have a bunch of quotes on a vintage chip clip rack in my bathroom.

A couple of reminders are hung on bottles in the bathroom window sill.Manilla tags are a fun and easy way to post a quote.
This metal word reminding us every day to "Celebrate" is on a chair as you go into the family room.
I found it and the "Blessed" sign (in the bathroom) in the greeting card isle.
This little tag reads "Live
Love Laugh." It was a key chain from the dollar store. I tied it onto a candle that sits on our kitchen table.
This one is next to my computer.
I like to add sayings to lampshades, that way I read them when I turn the light on and off.
What words inspire you?

Cool ideas. I like to collect quotes & sayings also. The most recent one I added to the list:
Use it up, wear it out. Make it do, or do without.

I have things like this everywhere in my home! I have vinyl words and tags. Over our breakfast nook it says, "Together we make a family." Words we live by as we are a blended family. =)

I love this! Such a great idea. I love that you have them subtly placed in all the different areas!

Just recently I received an e-mail from my brother sharing with me what is inscribed on the top of the Washington Monument in D.C.. And it is "Laus Deo which translates to "Praise be to God". I can't wait to place it on the perfect wall in my home...just haven't decided which one that is. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hello Joy...

Ohhh yes...I'm lovin' your post today, my friend! "I believe we should surround ourselves with the things that inspire, empower, and remind uf of all that we are and what we strive to become..."! (a quote written by lil' ol' me! Hehe!) And you've done that so beautifully!!! I always get so much pleasure from seeing all of your beautiful photos...your home and your creativity! Which brings me to the next topic of conversation...love, love, love all of your Spring/Easter decor! I always end up copying your photos to my computer for future reference and inspiration!!! Thank you for sharing...

Have a fabulous Friday, my friend!
Warmest wishes,
Chari

I do this same thing. If I need to make a point to the kids or us as a family, I hang a sign. Did a post on this month or so ago. Great way to make yourself heard.

Havea a great day.

Very sweet ideas. A long time ago I used to collect inspirational quotes in a little notebook. I still have the notebook, but never write in it any more...maybe I'll dig it out again. :)

I too, love quotes and sayings. I have them written in journals, on little pieces of paper, and on sticky notes all over the place. My current favorite is:

"Breathe. Let go and remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure."

I'm not sure where I picked that one up ~ somewhere on the internet but I absolutely love it.

I love quotes, too! They can be clever or really move us, can't they? I saw an idea for displaying them when house hunting last year. I posted about it at http://robinsblessednest.blogspot.com/2008/10/lake-house-decor.html. Scroll down to the 13th photo! Quotes were written on index cards that were tea-stained...I think you'll like it!

The most inspirational thing for me is the poem Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost.. it gives me motivation to keep moving in life.

And the Psalm of Life by Robert Herrick keeps me going as well.

My most inspiring words?

Okay, this is just really getting weird. You are the teacher, but you are now nicknamed, "part B."

You have this way about you that takes my home to the next level. I, too, have tags and bottles. But, never thought to hang the tags on my big bottles. (that was big BOTTLES not big Bottom)

I love it! And, I have seen cool words in the greeting card section too.

My favorite saying is Keep Calm..and Carry On.

All around our home we have the word 'Believe.' We do this to help us to remember to believe in our Father in Heaven to know what is right for our son, Parker, who is very medically fragile and has special needs.

Love this idea! I too am crazy for quotes. My favorite is from Hans Christian Anderson, "Every man's life is a fairy tale written by God's fingers."
