Do you ever take all of the accessories out
of a room and live with the
empty surfaces for a few days?Do you ever rearrange the furniture
or does it stay in the exact same spot
year after year? You know that I love my accessories/clutter,
but it's very refreshing
to occasionally remove all of the extra stuff
and change the lay out of a room. It gives you that "just moved in" feeling.
Try It! Go ahead, give your inner decorator
a clean slate.
Allow yourself to embrace change.
Take some time to revitalize your room
and your life.

Oh yea, I do that. I also love to rearrange furniture. I probably move things around every 6 months or so.
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh at this post. When I was little, I changed my room around every single Saturday morning! Drove my Mom nuts! ANd my husband? WHen we were first married, he had no clue what he would come home to. LOL.
ReplyDeleteNowadays it's a little harder, with everything being so big and heavy. But my living room gets changed around a lot!
And I put everything away roughly 3 times a year and then start fresh! I get bored looking at the same arrangements. I like to mix it up!
Great post! Have a good day! Karen
I love to do that! I sit down and look at the space all clean and fresh. Then of course I fill it up again with things I love. Your photos are beautiful. So clean and crisp.
ReplyDeleteI'm always re-arranging furniture....drive my hubby crazy
ReplyDeleteI used to do this constantly until we got furniture that was too big to move/fit anywhere else. thus, I now just rearrange the decor. I miss moving the furniture around!
ReplyDeleteDo you have any ideas for HOW to do this? For instance, do you just box everything up and then clean and rearrange things? Do you move everything out, or just put things to one side?
ReplyDeleteYour posts always get me to thinking. Thank you for that!
I LOVE to rearrange. It is so nice for a change! I love change that I can control, and the nice thing about rearranging furniture is, if you end up not liking what you did, you can put it right back the way it was!
ReplyDeleteI usually get a room like I like it then don't move my stuff around for years (except for seasonal stuff). Lately we've been painting so I have had that "just moved in" feeling with fresh paint smell and nothing on the walls or tables.
ReplyDeleteMy only question is, where do you store your clutter?
ReplyDeleteso funny- we just did that! o.k. truth be told it was because we were getting new furniture! :) but it was fun to have that "clean slate" feeling!
ReplyDeleteYES! I find that empty surfaces are totally calming. (And easier to dust!)
ReplyDeleteTHANKS, I NEEDED THAT!!!
ReplyDeleteHUGS FROM MAINE
I don't leave things the same for very long. It's fun to rearrange!!
ReplyDeleteIt is like eating shorbet after a good plate of pasta, or having ozuo(sp) after some good greek food. It takes the current taste off and just leaves you with the memories. It ws weird not seeing all your cute extra's. I know they will be back though.=)
ReplyDeleteThose container pots turned out fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI would love to rearrange, but our living room is a long rectangle & I just cant figure out what else to do.
ReplyDeleteYou know what? That is a really good idea... I am used to the chaos of trying to move everything without a clean room, this would bve a lot less stressful!
