On Friday son #3 was in an ATV accident. He broke his left femur and his right tibia. Yes, that's right, two broken legs. We feel incredibly blessed that it wasn't worse! He's doing well but he needs his mama for the next few days so I'll be taking a blog break. Hope to see you soon.

ReplyDeleteOh dear! I know exactly how he's feeling! I rolled my ATV about 2 years ago and broke my collarbone in two places - the first broken bones I ever had! Unfortunately, my mom was too far away to help out, so hubby and the kids stepped in to take care of me. Not a fun experience! (the bones, not the help) At least he's young - he'll heal much more quickly than I did!
ReplyDeleteGoodness - Prayers coming your way !
ReplyDeleteKammy

ReplyDeleteOh I am so sorry. We spent 3 days in Primary Children's with our daughter when she broke her leg and 3 subsequent visits for surgeries. I now have much more sympathy for children with broken legs and their mothers. He is blessed to have you. He will need his Mom. My daughter and I grew so close during that time and it was a time of growing up for her. I hope he has a speedy (at least as speedy as possible) recovery.
ReplyDeleteOh Ouch! Bless his heart! and so scary for you! I know he is hurting. Give him lots of hugs and kisses and spoil him rotten while you can! Hope he heals quickly. We'll miss you and watch anxiously for news of his recovery.

ReplyDeleteMy boys were out riding on Friday too. The whole day I was nervous for them while I was of course shopping. They returned home with no injury, sorry to hear of son #3 misfortune. Did they get any good photos though? This always make my boys feel better when they see how awesome their crash was! Wierd I know but what boys aren't?
ReplyDeleteHi Joy,
ReplyDeleteMy sympathy! My 14-year-old broke his femur several years ago. He flipped over the handlebars of a motor scooter when the back wheel got caught on some wire. He was in traction overnight while waiting for a rod small enough for his leg to be sent from a larger nearby city. The bedpan business was definitely humbling for him!
Blessings,
Lorilee
