Not Your Average Wedding Decor

Our friends hired us to decorate for an open house celebrating the marriage of their son and daughter-in-law. Since they would also be having a reception in another city this meant that things could be a little less formal (which thrilled me). I asked (perhaps begged) if they would trust me to design something fun and unusual. Fortunately they allowed me.
I was inspired by this photo of an outdoor wedding
that I saw circulating on the internet.

This is how our version looked.
Entrance into the building. Entry and gift drop off. "Filler" decorations. Centerpieces. Backdrop.

  1. Yay! I've been waiting and waiting, and hoping and hoping that you would share pictures from the wedding - and it was worth the wait! The decorations are spectacular - I'm sure the wedding party was thrilled with what you did - and the guests (hopefully) appreciated the creativity and non-traditional aspects of the evening. Good job JOY!

  8. Heather-
The backdrop is actually three separate pieces that join together like puzzle pieces. That way it's easier and lighter to move.

  9. This is so gorgeous! And what an amazing thing to be able to do in a "cutural hall" wedding. I just found your blog a few months ago and love seeing what you are up to :). Good work.
