I know it seems a bit plain,
but that's what I like about it.
I can dress it up or down,
depending on the month or my mood.
During the Christmas season I decorate it
with a wreath and dangle big ornaments from it.
For Halloween, a bat finds it a nice place to hang.
Today I hung some huge sparkly leaves for fall. Some months it loses the shades,
gains some round bulbs and
is dressed with little pretties from
the dollar area of the craft store.Sometimes I add another layer of sparkle
that was originally meant to be Christmas garland.Other months it's a random combination.
But I think this one is my favorite.Old silver spoons hung with curly copper wire.

I think my favorite is the crystals. A girl's gotta love some sparkle!
What a great, easy way to switch things up from time to time!
You must always have your thinking cap on. What creative ability you have. My favorite is the one with the old silver spoons, very whimsical.
Blessings, Virginia
I LOVE those Fall leaves hanging from it. I too like your simple chandelier and what fun to decorate it for the seasons and just some whimsy.
I love them all...
I love that chandelier! Somehow we ended up with the boring and ugly one from the builder. Hate it! Why do they make those? Now, among all other things that you do great, I have chandelier envy! I love the leaves!
I love chandeliers just for this reason! I hang stuff from mine too. It is so fun! :) I love the crystals on yours!
I love them all! That's the beauty of starting out with something simple, a clean slate. It's always fun to see what's up your sleave! ~Becky~
Hey Joy, Just poppin in to see your latest. Have the car rigged to my dsl. We are safe, but no power since Friday from Ike. I hope to be back on soon. Love the decor on the chandelier.
Ok.......this is weried...not scary weried but funny weried. I did the same thing with my chandy. I have a very simple one as well. I hung spoons from it for Christmas...with greenery...you can go back last DEC. and see it in my archives....were we separated at birth Joy? rofl, cherry
Just love it! I like plain, you can do a lot more with a plain light fixture!
Blessings to you and yours,
How fun, rotating chandelier jewelry!
Our Dollar Tree really stinks, because I never see the cool stuff you guys talk about (the frame, the ceramic gourds, etc.). Maybe I'll have to check out the competition: Dollar General, 99 cent store, etc. LOL
I love them all but my favorite is the crystals very bling bling!
Thank you so much for the link to my blog and my creation from YOUR idea. I love the different ideas for the chandelier~what a great idea for the round bulbs and I adore the sparkly leaves for fall.
I have a similar chandalier in my dining room and I do the same thing. I love the spoon idea...may have to copy that one!
Adorable Joy!!! I love how you chose a simple chandelier and can decorate it for various seasons! What a fab idea! Thanks for sharing!
I love the leaves - they're my favorite fall-ish decoration. Love the crystals, too. It's all so pretty. :)
what a great idea to be able to change it up so much. Keeps things fresh and interesting. Too smart!
Hi Joy! I've just recently found your blog and I love all your project ideas! Your post with the dollar store frames really got me thinking outside of the box for Halloween decorations. I linked to you on my post today and just wanted to let you know!
I'm looking forward to more fun ideas!

I love all the different versions! How fun!
The spoons are my favorite. So whimsical and fun. I have a similar chandelier in my front room and I dress it up for fall and Christmas, but you are inspiring me to think outside the box for some other seasons!
Carrie
very nice, i like all the looks!
I love them all, but especially them there spoons :)
I could see you hosting a dinner party and one of the loud, obnoxious (uninvited) guests trying to grab one down for dessert...lol...ok, ok, yes, I watch too much television, but it would be funny ;)
You are right about the chandelier style...Ours is very ornate on it's own and if I started adding to it, yikes! Hubby picked it out, so it stays...in fact he was in charge of the dining room, he picked out the furniture (that I really don't like, lol), too...oh well, he lives here, too :)

Oh yes! The old spoons are my absolute FAV! My Dad had a business trip in Philly and I sent him on a treasure hunt for me in their antique district. You'll never beleive what he found! I'm going to try to post them tomorrow. WOOHOO! When I got his package I couldn't wait to tell you. Not in a wierd crazy sort of way - in a "can't wait to tell my Dectorating Guardian Angel" sort of way. Ha! Ha! :o)
Pretty ideas for your light. I too hang big christmas ornaments from the dining room light, and saw some beautiful ones today. Jackie
Great ideas Joy! You always inspire me to think outside the box.
how utterly charming and romantic! you're rearranged the way I'll look at my hanging lamps!!
So cute. I love to decorate mine too. But so far only at Christmas. Great ideas as usual...Mimi
I love all of the ways you decorate your chandelier! So neat and fun! Thanks for sharing!!!

I have been reading and reading for the last hour and it's really time for bed '-) but I just can't stop!!!! Help!!
I have truly enjoyed all of your posts..from new to old and everything in-between. The last one about your obsession with black? You should do what ever inspires you from one day to the next.
Right now I'm in the pastel mood. My spray paint cans are all lined up like candy in a candy store.
My family thinks like yours, but like the saying goes "When mama ain't happy ain't nobody happy" For now I'm enjoying the light tones with lot's of shabbiness in-between my world.
Keep up the great posts as I will be watching the changes.
Happy Fall

I love the crystals.. Because I love all things sparkly!! But I like the leaves too..
oh my God!!! I have the same chandelier!!! thanks for the good decorating tips for each season!!!
I love your chandelier. I really, really want one for all of the decorating possibilities but we have low ceilings and my husband says no way. I guess I'm stuck with my ceiling fan (which is still on the dangerous side because of the low ceilings but it was here when we moved in so it will stay for now!) Thanks for a lovely blog!
It's beautiful with every change.
I remembered I bought a bunch of those chandelier crystals at a few antique stores. I use them for Christmas tree ornaments! Use can use those babies just about anywhere!
Wow, this is a very versatile light fixture! I really like the ideas you have for it.
Love the spoons...saved it for inspiration!
Janet
I have a very plain chandelier like this too, so I definatly want to try out all of these creative ideas! :)
love the chandelier and the ever-changing bling!
One blogger ~ I forget who ~ had strung up candy corn (TONS of candy corn) and covered the chandelier arms with it. It looked great!
Edible bling!
