I had a little thrift shop therapy on Saturday. I thought I'd show you some of my fantastic finds.I must admit that I have a hard time passing up a nice chair. I'm thinking that this will be a good match for my desk, but it will look good almost anywhere in my home. Look at the details on the back. This crock came home with me too. I know it's style is a bit country, but it's a good size for holding just about anything. You know how I love white plates, especially ones that are made in England and have pretty details. And, speaking of details, look at this lovely metal rack. I'm not sure where it will end up hanging in my home, but I couldn't resist the red with black glaze finish. Plus, it was only three dollars! Who could walk away from that?
I'll be spending today putting away my Halloween decorations and bringing out the Thanksgiving stuff. Unlike all of the stores, I don't put up Christmas decorations right after Halloween. I love the Thanksgiving season! It's a time to relax and enjoy the season with family and friends and reflect on our many blessings.
HI Joy! Love all your finds! That chair matches nicely with the foyer one you have/had?! The crock I think can go any way; I'm sure you will take it where it needs to go!lol Love the red rack too and no I wouldn't be able to walk away. I totally agreee about Christmas right after halloween; let us digest the turkey first pleeeeez!lol Have a great week - Jeannette
ReplyDeleteI love those leaf plates in your header photo...those are my colors!
ReplyDeleteWow! You brought home some very nice treasures! I had a wonderful "thrifting" weekend, as well, and ended up with a red & white buffalo checked chair - $20, a Pottery Barn "silver" tray - $3.93, PB candlesticks - marked down from $6.96 to $3.43, a white "china" pilgrim couple - $4...gotta love those thrift stores! And I love your leaf plates, too!
ReplyDeleteThe thrift shops around my area have nothing but junk!! I'm so jealous that you can find such great things!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly did find some lovely items!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteYou found some great items....can't wait to see them used in your home. I already took down my Halloween and put some more scarecrows around for Thanksgiving. I too enjoy it for a while longer.....The Friday after Thanksgiving is when I usually start decorating for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with your fun finds!! Sandy toes
ReplyDeleteI would have snatched that shelf up definitely. Looks great. I will be showing some of my finds tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder about Thanksgiving. I must go get the pilgrims. Jackie
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful finds...are you going to the DI or some other thrift store, because I don't find stuff like that at my DI!!! Love your new title pic. Happy MOnday.
ReplyDeleteStephanie
I'm ready to move to whereever you live just to hit those thrift stores . . . jealous - but in a totally good way!
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally love that crock.
I never find anything that good! I am gonna have to find some better thrift stores. :)
ReplyDeleteWow Joy that's a great chair you found! I would have picked up that crock too - it's a great size and you can do so much with it. I like to enjoy each season too. I know a lot of people will start decorating for Christmas but I like to wait for Thanksgiving to be over.

I love all your finds, especially the chair and the red iron shelf!
ReplyDeleteThat chair is a beauty...love the detail on her back! I am soooo jealous of your thrift stores. Salvation Army is about the only one we have, and it's way overpriced, nasty junk (as opposed to good junk...you know what I mean). I guess I'll have to stick with the good ol' yard sale finds.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall

You got some great things, as usual. I know there are people getting into Christmas already. But if I start too early I get sick of it all too soon. Let's enjoy one holiday at a time. Mimi
ReplyDeleteHi, I came over from Simple things. I love your style. Your house looks so clean and bright and full of stuff I love.
ReplyDeleteI love Thanksgiving, too. I feel it deserves a chance before Christmas set in as well. I love your stuff!
ReplyDeleteYou got some great finds!!
ReplyDeleteYou did find some neat things....love the chair. I can't wait to see where you put it!
ReplyDeleteLove all your finds!! The chair is in such good shape and I can think of about 10 ways to use that crock. Good job!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the new header, very pretty!
Hi Joy, great therapy. I love a good therapy session at thrift stores too! Hahaha...it just renews the soul! I love white plates too, we always have alot (50-60) relatives for Christmas, so I like all those white plates. But first Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Debbie
I love the crock. They are so hard to find here in Utah. You are lucky.
ReplyDeleteThrift stores are therapy for me too. And I would have had a hard time walking away from that chair, too.

Joy,
ReplyDeleteI love thrift store and antique store finds. I find some great hammered aluminum pieces just today....can't wait to post pics.
Great finds! I completely agree with you about the Christmas decor! It is out in the stores way too early!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness...what I wouldn't give to have a fabulous thrift store like yours near me. There was a beat up table and chairs selling at ours a couple weeks ago for $150. You cannot get anything...and I mean anything...under $2 there. Ugh, thrifty is certainly not what our store is. Great scores!! LOVE the chair and I have a soft spot for crocks!
ReplyDeleteLove that chair!!! I like white plates too. You can do so much with them~
ReplyDeleteLove the chair and crock! You could use the crock to hold blankets, or wood by the fireplace!
ReplyDelete:) great stuff!
WOW!! Awesome finds~!!! I'm so glad that you are saving your Christmas stuff till later.. I can't wait to see what you do with the red rack.. that is cooool!!!
ReplyDeleteSuper finds!!! I love the detail on th back of the chair.
ReplyDeleteI am excited for the Thanksgiving season. I think we need to spend more time focusing on giving thanks than we do. I am excited to see what you will do for decor.
I LOVE that chair!
ReplyDeleteHi Joy,
ReplyDeleteI love your thrift shop finds. I'm about to run out of room for much else, but I can't help thrift shopping! It's so much fun!
Diane
I had some thrift shop therapy on Saturday too! I found some really amazing things. I actually just blogged about it today. Go check it if you wanna.

I just found you tonight on Google Reader. Nice to "meet" you.
You do find the most amazing things! I really think thrifting depends on which part of the country you live in bz in our little town here in Utah there is absolutely nothing. Believe me I've looked! What is good people want premium prices for. I so love to see what my blogging buddies buy and what they do with it! I love the leaf plates on your header too! I decorate for Thanksgiving too.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!! I love that desk chair!
ReplyDeleteI love your bargains, as always! I am excited to see what you have for Thanksgiving. I have been trying to come up with some sweet, easy Thanksgiving decorations that I can pull out instead of jumping ahead to Christmas...so be sure to share! :)
ReplyDeleteCarrie
I'm so jealous of all your finds. I love them all, truly. They are all something I would buy and could use in my home.
ReplyDeleteI went to an antiques/collectibles show in July specifically looking for a crock but they were all very pricey so I came home empty handed.
Glad you had a successful shopping therapy day. :)
Score! Love the chair. You got some great deals.
ReplyDeleteVery nice finds. I especially love the chair. Very creative blog ... will need to follow :-)
