Candlestick Admiraton and a Preview

Many of you have admired my chunky candlesticks. Before they held candles they sat for about a hundred years as part of a balustrade on a neighbors' front porch. My neighbors replaced them with the vinyl stuff that doesn't need to be painted. I volunteered to take the old porch parts. They were happy to give them to me. I've made four sets of these candlesticks. A pair for my neighbors as a memento of their old porch, a pair as a Christmas gift, and two pair for me.

A white pair, and a black pair. I have six of these sweet things left.
Well, actually four of them are going to be
part of my next project.
Here's a preview of what we'll be doing this weekend.

What will you be doing this weekend?

How sweet to make mementos of the old porch! We took photos of my mother-in-law's old home and rose garden before she moved, then framed them and gave them to her for Christmas. Have a great weekend :)

We will be going to the Zoo Boo with the kids. I went to a Rummage sale this morning at a church and scored on a snowman and an antique lamp, just needs a new lamp shade. So excited.

This weekend I am working on my boys' T.V. room-finishing it up with glue guns, and paint...I won't be posting about it until November-too much to do to finish!!

We will be at Fiesta Texas for the Fright fest! We have to take advantage of time together before a baby comes and the rnadom bursts of energy I am having these days! Not nearly as productive as you. You put us all to shame!

You really lucked out getting all those balustrades from your neighbors. It was very nice of you to make them candlesticks too.
I'm guessing that you're making a table or perhaps some sort of stacked shelf? We'll all be in suspense until Monday.
I'm planning to prime and paint my old IKEA buffet this weekend. Then I'll move onto the hutch part. It's getting a complete makeover.
Fingers crossed it all goes according to my plan!
Have a great weekend Joy!

I'll be back in the bedroom. Hanging drywall. It's almost done (thank heavens). If I have enough energy after that then I have to work on the kitchen cabinets. Plus, we have homecoming and #1 son is turning 18 on Sunday, so we'll be partying like it's 1990.

I see a very cool table in your weekend.

OOOhhh, it looks so intriguing! Can't wait to see the finished product!

BTW, I love those candlesticks. I have several spindle-thingys I bought at a garage sale for 50 cents each. Maybe I should try making some of my own....

I'll be searching for decor for my son's room and going to a pumpkin patch on Sunday with the kids. I have a small cupboard waiting for me to refinish. I'm planning on painting it red, puting chicken wire where the slats were, then puting harlequin paper in the back, but I have no clue where to find any. Any suggestions????
Thanks

If it's what I think it is, I've been thinking about making one of those, too! ;) I can't wait to see how yours turns out!
