I Want Another One

I liked this one so much that we built another one. This time the legs are spindles that we cut down to size.We built a box for stability and for looks. Now I just need better weather
so I can take it outside to paint.
(It's been raining and snowing here!)
It will stay a creamy white.
It's sofa table height and will live in the family room.
It's going to replace this little guy,

who will likely find a new home
somewhere else in my house.

Another beautiful project! I can't believe it is snowing! WOW! We are supposed to drop in temperature here by Wednesday....I can't wait!

Really cute!!! What would you estimate is the cost of making it versus buying it? Just curious.

You really need to open up a store! I'm sure people would pay you big bucks for the stuff you create out of salvage items! I like this 2nd table even better than the first!

Deb,
The old door and the spindles came from the thrift store. I think I paid less than $20 for all of them. The MDF to build the box was $14, plus the cost of paint equals less than $40 for the whole project.
I'm thinking that to buy something like this, made from a door that's about 100 years old, you would probably pay $200 or more.

I wish I had the confidence to build something. Your projects always look so great. Maybe I will make it a personal goal for spring. I have to say I am not happy with mother nature for skipping my favorite season fall and going straight into winter freezes.

What a terrific table. No need to have to look for just the right piece, when you can build it yourself. Can't beat the savings either.
We had a dusting of snow the other morning but thankfully it melted quickly. Just a hint of what's to come.
Have a great day! :)

Oh, my goodness! Where on earth do you live? Snowing??? It's only October!! Wow!

Love this idea. I am actually going by one of the thrift stores in town later this afternoon and see if they have any treasures there!!!

OK, where are you finding doors like this? Is your thrift store just local or similar to a Goodwill, etc.? Just trying to figure out where to go.

Blessings,
Susan

Where are you at that it is snowing??? Its about 80 something degrees here. I don't think we will see snow until like February.

I love the idea of using that as a sofa table. I need to find a door. :)

What a great idea! Where do you get all your doors? I got 3 off of craigslist last spring, but I had a lot of competition for them. They're hard to come by.

You make refininishing and building furniture so easy! I especially loved your redo of the old desk that you painted white! You are very talented. Didn't you love waking up to all the snow on Sunday morning. Very beautiful, but way too early!

Joy,
I see that you do not have awards posted and I'm sure after all the posts you have given to us you would have oodles of them. So, I am assuming that you have gotten so many of them and cannot post them all. Well, I just gave you one over at my blog because as a newbie you have been such an inspiration to me on decorating crafting blogging etc.. and I appreciate that.Have a blessed day!
