With the heat of the summer upon us, I was feeling the need for a gorgeous summer centerpiece. Not wanting to spend any money, I walked through my backyard to find what was in bloom. I grabbed my clippers and nipped off a few blooms from my butterfly bushes, then added some grasses for filler. Now I have a wild, bountiful, beautiful, and free bouquet.Since seashells evoke the feeling of summer, I thought I'd add one into my seasonal vignette. Of course, I couldn't resist giving the backside a glitzy little makeover
so that it would be as pretty on the outside as it is inside. Then I finished the setting with a little ceramic bird candle holder, adorned with an old key tied on with rope.It gives me a thrill to add beauty to my home
without spending any money!

so PRETTY! I love that Purple Flower!
I have a Butterfly Bush with purple blooms as well, Joy! Well, it's more like a tree at this point, but I never thought to cut some of the blooms and bring them in the house. I'll have to rethink that!
Very creative,so pretty and summery....
Just found your beautiful blog. What a lovely vignette, with a great price tag.
What a great feeling!
Very pretty. I would never think to add to the flowers like you did.
My butterfly bush is not blossoming yet.
Oh very pretty! I love the purple and the accent pieces complete it. Love it!
Love the bouquet--you are so lucky to have things blooming! All my plants are fading and panting in our dry summer heat!
Great idea. I need to remember to bring some of the outdoor beauty inside.
So pretty! I aspire to have pretty little vignettes in my home, but with three busy children, ages 5, 4 & 3, it's a struggle some days.
Beautiful! Butterfly bushes are one of my favs because of all the various types of butterflies they attract. Cutting and bringing them into the house is such a lovely idea.
