Valuable, But Small

One of my favorite lines from a movie comes from You've Got Mail. Meg Ryan's character writes, "Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life. . . valuable but small. And sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or because I haven't been brave?"
I, too, lead a small but valuable life. I live most of my life within a five mile radius and I'm happy with that. Occasionally I venture beyond those five miles, and when I do, my big thrill is to include a thrift store in my travels (I know, I know, I'm livin' on the edge of excitement!). Yesterday was such a day. I went to a thrift store in another city and look what treasures I found!

I think the happiest people in the world are the ones who can be happy with a small life and the small things in it. It doesn't take a lot to make me happy, a good thrift store or garage sale will do it. Here's to the little things!

Ya know I can never find good treasures at our thrift stores. Maybe I need to open my eyes a little more to possible treasures.

That is one of my favorite lines ever, because I've always felt it describes me. Love your finds:)

That must be why I like your blog so much. I lead a small life too, but I love it! What great finds! It's worth it to venture out once in a while.

Love that movie and your thrift finds. It's such a rush when you find something fabulous very few people get the whole thrifting thing.

Oh oh, you're venturing out of your comfort zone. Who knows what treasures lurk beyond. I have a feeling the paintbrush or spray paint is coming out soon to work magic on your new found goodies.
BTW, love what you did to the mirror in your previous post.
I've passed along a couple of awards to you (big surprise hun?) :)
Drop by and pick 'em up.
Have a great day!

Yes, I can so relate to the thrill of the hunt. It's the best, isn't it? We must be on the same "page" because my whole post today was on my best friend - Good Will - and it even got me on the news (all about thrifting...lol). I LOVE your finds. Make sure and post once they find their homes...can't wait.

Great finds.
I too live a small life. But that's the mission field God planted me, and you too, so let's agree as sisters to rejoice in this.
