Another Light Topic

This is the chandelier hanging in my dining room. I really like it.
I know it seems a bit plain,
but that's what I like about it.

I can dress it up or down,
depending on the month or my mood.

During the Christmas season I decorate it
with a wreath and dangle big ornaments from it.
For Halloween, a bat finds it a nice place to hang.
Today I hung some huge sparkly leaves for fall.
Some months it loses the shades,
gains some round bulbs and
is dressed with little pretties from
the dollar area of the craft store.
Sometimes I add another layer of sparkle
that was originally meant to be Christmas garland.
Other months it's a random combination.
But I think this one is my favorite.Old silver spoons hung with curly copper wire.
Take time to visit Melissa and Ashley
to see their dollar frame creations.

I think my favorite is the crystals. A girl's gotta love some sparkle!

What a great, easy way to switch things up from time to time!

You must always have your thinking cap on. What creative ability you have. My favorite is the one with the old silver spoons, very whimsical.

I love that chandelier! Somehow we ended up with the boring and ugly one from the builder. Hate it! Why do they make those? Now, among all other things that you do great, I have chandelier envy! I love the leaves!

How fun, rotating chandelier jewelry!

Our Dollar Tree really stinks, because I never see the cool stuff you guys talk about (the frame, the ceramic gourds, etc.). Maybe I'll have to check out the competition: Dollar General, 99 cent store, etc. LOL

I love them all, but especially them there spoons :)

I could see you hosting a dinner party and one of the loud, obnoxious (uninvited) guests trying to grab one down for dessert...lol...ok, ok, yes, I watch too much television, but it would be funny ;)

You are right about the chandelier style...Ours is very ornate on it's own and if I started adding to it, yikes! Hubby picked it out, so it stays...in fact he was in charge of the dining room, he picked out the furniture (that I really don't like, lol), too...oh well, he lives here, too :)

Oh yes! The old spoons are my absolute FAV! My Dad had a business trip in Philly and I sent him on a treasure hunt for me in their antique district. You'll never beleive what he found! I'm going to try to post them tomorrow. WOOHOO! When I got his package I couldn't wait to tell you. Not in a wierd crazy sort of way - in a "can't wait to tell my Dectorating Guardian Angel" sort of way. Ha! Ha! :o)

I have been reading and reading for the last hour and it's really time for bed '-) but I just can't stop!!!! Help!!
I have truly enjoyed all of your posts..from new to old and everything in-between. The last one about your obsession with black? You should do what ever inspires you from one day to the next.
Right now I'm in the pastel mood. My spray paint cans are all lined up like candy in a candy store.
My family thinks like yours, but like the saying goes "When mama ain't happy ain't nobody happy" For now I'm enjoying the light tones with lot's of shabbiness in-between my world.
Keep up the great posts as I will be watching the changes.
Happy Fall

I love your chandelier. I really, really want one for all of the decorating possibilities but we have low ceilings and my husband says no way. I guess I'm stuck with my ceiling fan (which is still on the dangerous side because of the low ceilings but it was here when we moved in so it will stay for now!) Thanks for a lovely blog!

One blogger ~ I forget who ~ had strung up candy corn (TONS of candy corn) and covered the chandelier arms with it. It looked great!
