A Little New Year Decor

Almost every year I like to decorate
a small New Year's tree.

It's a fun little tradition to help celebrate the new year.
I make it as glitzy and sparkly as possible
with silver and mirrored ornaments and foil streamers.
A few years ago I found some ornaments
that look like champagne bottles
(we prefer to think they're non-alcoholic)
with "Happy New Year" written on them.
I bought little glitter "cheers" words for 70% off.
I top the tree with a metal horn, and add more horns
on the branches and tucked at the base.
Won't this look great as the centerpiece
for the holiday buffet?

I've never seen a New Year's tree before. How clever of you, and to use as a centerpiece for a buffet would be charming!! Three cheers!! Sally

Its very festive! I love it...and am kicking myself for pasing up some of those bottles the other day. I am headed back to Pier 1 to see if they are still there.
Happy New Year!

That is a wonderful idea. That could be followed by a Mardi Gras themed tree in purple, gold and green!

Seriously, where do you come up with this stuff. You have got to stop blowing me away!

I'm preferring to keep up my tree branches decorated with gold glitter snowflakes in hopes that soon we will see at least a dusting of snow - or if my kids get their wish, a total blizzard and school cancelled for days!

Happy New Year!

Joy, you are one creative mama!
What an adorable tree all glitzed up.
I hope kitty is behaving and staying away from all that sparkle. One of
my cats goes crazy for anything sparkly (and crinkly).
All the best to you and your family in 2009!
