Here are some of my finds from last week:
Two framed botanicals for two dollars each. The frames need a little care but I love how large and beautiful they are.A four dollar, perfectly primed and ready to paint, plant stand. Isn't it gorgeous? Can't you just see it topped with a luscious fern, or for fall, a large pumpkin with autumn leaves draping down. And last the best of all the game, this Honey-I'm-not-sure-where-we'll-put-it-but-how-could-I-pass-up-this-gorgeous-Ralph-Lauren-twenty-five-dollar-sofa.Actually I'm thinking of cleaning out an area of our unfinished basement for a "reading room". Being the only female in a house with a hubby who likes talk tv and three sons who love guitar hero, I need
a pretty, little quiet place of my own.

Your sofa is fab - and I agree, buy now, figure out where to put it later! Your botanicals look like some I bought at a thrift store (2 for $4). Does it say "Redouté" anywhere on the bottom left? He was a well known Frenchman who did these botanicals some time back in the 1800's I think (or earlier, I've forgotten). Anyway, they sell on Ebay for $5 and up apiece unframed. The red ones are especially popular and inclined to cost more. Remember, that does not include shipping, sooooooo you got a great deal! Linda
Accckkkkkk...that sofa is absolutely FAB! And for only 25 smackers? What a deal. I am also in love with that plant stand...I'm envisioning a big white pumpkin with your monogram on top. I am soooo ready for fall!

Joy are you sure you don't want to sell your couch for a profit?? :) I'm completely serious, I love that couch. If so, contact me jthesavage (at) gmail.com
I wish I were as creative and domestically gifted as you and Ali!!! We hosted your lovely daughter and her kind husband in our home, and at my request she completely rearranged my living room and kitchen and made coherent use of my random decorations. I LOVE IT!!!! I aspire to making my home as warm and inviting a place as yours looks! Thanks for your inspiration and the talent you passed along to Ali!
That sofa was a STEAL!!
I was thinking you'd hit the jackpot with the plant stand, but then the sofa too! fabulous!
Awesome score with the couch. I wouldn't have been able to pass it up either!
Wow, you scored a $25 couch! You lucky dog!
I would sit on that couch in the garage if I had to...I think it;s great!
I love the sofa! I have a friend who made a "quiet room" in her basement. No kids or husbands allowed. She also hung a cute chandelier and put in a small desk area so she could write notes, get on the computer or do some scrapbooking. She loves it because she closes the door and has her own retreat!
