Breaking In

Okay, I really intended to post this a bit earlier, but we had a little emergency trip to the doctor for xrays. My youngest has "a bit" of a broken arm. Luckily it's not too serious (he didn't even want to go to the doctor) and will only need 3 weeks to heal.
Now onto another kind of break.
When deciding to go with a bold color in a room, like I did with the aqua headboard, sometimes you need to do it in steps---break yourself into the idea. Bring in a few pops of the color with pillows and other accessories. Try painting something small first. I painted this frame and then lived with it in the room to make sure that I loved the color enough. Once I'd done those baby steps it wasn't hard to take the giant leap. And now I'm so glad I did. The bold color was just was what this guest room needed!

Ouch! I hope he heals quickly! How do you have a "bit of a broken arm"?
Love the aqua additions to the guest room. It really adds some brightness to the room! I've been considering this or a variation of the color for our Master Bedroom, but just can't seem to decide which variation I like best. I'll have to put it a little further down my "to do" list for this winter.

Oh, and I am so sorry about the boken arm and thankful it is not any more serious than it is. My sone broke his in the summer, was in a cast for 6 weeks, in the meantime we went to the beach and "tried" to keep it taped up so he could swim! Um....didn't happen! Got soaked, smelled AWFUL! Had to come home and get a new cast!! lol

Oh gosh there's that headboard I want again. BAD. Nevermind. I'm going to go make me one. I'd think shipping charges would be horrendous anyway. :)

Love it!

Love that shade of aqua. That was a great choice. How do you have just a bit of a broken arm? Hope things go well. My son shattered and dislocated his elbow Tuesday; I'm afraid he's in for much longer than 3 weeks. But, He is a 41-year old big boy and will survive. Have a great week. Sally

I hope his arm heals quickly. My oldest was at emerg last night with a badly sprained hand (working with his very large calf for 4H). We were so glad it wasn't broken.
What a gorgeous colour and thanks for sharing the craft paint tip. It looks fabulous and I am sure your daughter and sil will love the fresh changes you brought to your guest room.

Sorry about your son. There should be a note when you deliver a boy that reads "bumps, breaks and scratches included." The color turned out great. It's not a boring room to look at. It looks fun and comfy.

Joy - I'm looking at your 'new' bedroom pictures again and I noticed that clear glass lamp on the side table. I wonder if you could take it apart and fill it with some colorful goodies? Might be fun!
