at the thrift store.
I tried to talk myself out of buying them.
I told myself that they cost too much.
I reminded myself that I already have an
inventory of lamps that could rival
any lamp isle of a department store.
I pointed out that I was only
searching for shades, not the entire lamp.
I warned myself that if I put those pretty things
in my shopping cart it may become
too difficult to take them out.
And then I realized that along with
all those admonishments,
I was also designing an entire room
around those beautiful lamps.
A room that I've struggled with,
a room that needed those lamps for inspiration,
a room that would no longer feel like a cast off
because now it would contain
these beautiful jewels.
And so I rolled my cart up to the cashier
and purchased them.

LOVE them!!! Love the story. I was giggling the hole time because that is so me.
Can't wait to see what you're doing!
you have a great eye - smart move. All the best, Lori
I have the same issue almost daily and it dosen't involve lamps. Awee the joys of thrift shopping!!
Those ARE nice!! Who would ever get rid of them??
If I found lamps of that caliber at my local thrift stores, I wouldn't have bought them. Nope. Rather, I would've dropped dead from shock. Ha!
They're great! And, um, where do you live again? ;)
It's a good thing you did, because they are great!
Too funny girl. Glad you got them though, as they are very beautiful! Happy decorating with them for inspiration!
They are beauties. You never did say how much you spent -- after all, it was a "thrift" store! Looking forward to seeing the end result!
That's so funny. They are jewels though!
They're gorgeous!! How much?? I always love hearing what other people get their lovelies for!
Glad to see I'm not the only one who can talk myself right into something I thought for sure I had decided against . . . or for . . . whatever the case may be! LOL
The lamps are fab! I'm sure you will never regret that purchase. Can't wait to see how you incorporate them into your decor!
Don't you hate when that happens!
Hey you go girl... you sound like me... hehe... now you must show us the room they are going in....
Have a great week.

Love your lamps and I can't wait to see the room put together. Thanks for sharing.

I bought those lamps at Target when they went on clearance last year. You're so lucky to score those at a Thrift store!
