Best Fool

Today is a wonderful holiday, the first of April---April Fools Day. A day for playing fun practical jokes. And being the joker that I am, I wanted to play one on you. But my mind is blank, empty, containing nothing of humor. Me! The person who loves to laugh. The one who has people walk up to her in a crowded room and say, "I knew you were here because I heard your laugh." (to which I often reply, "Please tell me I don't sound like a cackling witch.")
I'm always up for a good laugh and a great joke.
But today I have nothing.
So I'll share my most memorable April Fools Day joke. It was played on me by son #1 years ago in our previous home. The boy sneaked into our master bathroom and very carefully placed those little snappers (the small twisted white paper packages that make a loud POP when they're thrown to the ground) under the toilet seat, one snapper on each of the pods of the seat. When I went into the room to sit, those little packages EXPLODED causing me to scream so loudly the neighbors would wonder. Of course immediately following the scream was the sound of laughter both inside and outside the bathroom door!My sons have tried to repeat the infamous prank, but to no avail. This momma catches on pretty quick!
What is your most memorable
April Fool's Day joke?

That is pretty funny, Joy! I may have to try that on my son.

Mine "fool" was many years ago. I was only married about 6 months and worked in a two floor law office. A young high school girl who worked part-time called me from where she was on the first floor and said that someone had hit my car. So I came down to look and of course, got the "April Fool". But I quickly turned to her and said, "You know, you shouldn't do that to a pregnant woman." The look on her face was priceless and she believed me! So I got her right back! I was quick then! : )

Oh my! That's absolutely hilarious!

I admit it slipped my mind this year. My little girls having been trying to tell me April Fool's jokes for months now (they have yet to learn the art of telling jokes or knowing when April 1st is!). So, I'll admit I'm already tired of it even though it only arrived today!

Last year I put a little bit of food coloring in the bottom of their cereal bowls and when I poured the milk over their cereal...it changed! The girls thought that was fun.

Too funny Joy! It's a good thing you were already sitting there, or you might have wet your pants! LOL

No funny stories from me - my mind is always a blank when it comes to stuff like that.

I posted about mine on my blog. I pulled the prank on two of my sons. I think you will enjoy my post today. (I will have to share your idea with my sons!) Lori

That is hillarious!! I am going to have to remember that one!!
As for the moss rocks-I got them at my dollar store (harrisville)but I have seen them in other stores around my area. Bad news-I got them a couple weeks ago and you know how the dollar store is. They were down the aisle with the fake stuff if that helps!
Good Luck!!

Davin did that to me yesterday. I wasn't in the best of moods, but I was still able to admit it was a pretty good April Fools joke. I just told everyone I was moving back to Florida.

Such a funny story--I felt guilty laughing as I read it, but it was truly hilarious!

As a mother of five boys and one girl I have had my share of jokes played on me, however, the best I have done was to my college son. I moved his Bronco without him noticing, around the block and let him believe, with a little convincing from me, that it was stolen. He is the joker of our house and he fell for it. I only said "April Fools' when he picked up the phone to report to the police a stolen car. He has paid me back many times since...he is now 24.
