Shutter Love

Last year I found an old shutter while doing a dumpster drive-by. Even though I had no clue what I would do with a tall, lone, beat-up shutter, I threw it in the garage until inspiration hit. Then it happened! I pulled out my trash find, cleaned, spray painted, and sanded until it had the perfect worn patina.
I added a knob where one was missing.
I grabbed clips from my office supplies. And I began to hang and clip fun items onto the slats. Now I have the perfect memo/photo board for our guest room.

I like it! I love it when the "thing" that holds inspirations is also inspirational :)

Very pretty and a creative way to use this shutter, Joy! Love the blue! My daughter was getting rid of a screen and I just removed the paper backing from it. I've been trying to think of neat ways I can use this and/or should I put fabric on it where the paper backing used to be. I'll have to play with it a bit I think.

Hello. I too was the proud owner of two shutters same size! With lovely chipped white paint, that I pulled my suburban over to snatch away for my own treasure! I use one in my sewing room with my patterns clipped to it with clothes pins and it not only works great, it looks darling! GREAT find!

I like your idea. I have 2 small shutters that I have setting on a shelf in my utility room. I'm going have to try to clip things on it too. Thanks for the sharing.
