Four For The Fourth

Here's four simple ideas to decorate for the Fourth of July.
DISPLAY IT!
Nothing shows your patriotism more than displaying the American flag.
So hang it in a window.
Drill one hole, or more, in a finial and stick in a flag.Place a bunch of flags in a vase or urn.

FRAME IT!

A simple idea---put a flag in a frame.Frame It.

GROUP IT!

Display your patriotic collections in a group for more visual punch.
Like these Uncle Sams
or these barn stars.

DECLARE IT!

Find yourself a piece of wood, some paint and a brush (or scrapbook paper and vinyl) and paint a flagor a word.

I so feel inspired to do something around our home that shows our pride in America. Your idea of painting the stars is sooo cute. And easily done who in blog land doesnt have those already. So for me this idea is doable (is that a word)?! lol

I'm loving all of these ideas--except for the writing on the flag-I think I would write on the glass, or...on the frame! Flag etiquette can be tricky. Our boyscouts did an old flag properly burning ceremony, and it is sobering how reverent they were taking care of the old flags. Love your red white and blue decorating! Great ideas! YES for hanging the field of honor on the correct side so the stars show up on the left when hung vertically! (I am not the flag police, but I love seeing it done right!) Love reading your blog!

I like the writing on the flag and putting under glass. This is would do on a smaller type kids flag, maybe even tea dye it too. I saw the previous comment and I would not do that to one that would be hung outside, saluted or pledged too. I think you know what is good flag ettiquette.

I have three Eagle Scouts and they have participated in a flag retirement ceremony. I love the USA and everything the flag stands for. Two of them even received flags that had been flown over the White House. We love our flags and respect them, just like you!

I just stumbled upon your blog, and I have to say --- Wow! I LOVE your 4th of July ideas. They are really fabulous! I'm seriously going to the store to get started on a couple of them. I just started my own decorating blog and have just posted a patriotic project I did. Check it out if you get a minute. Thanks, and great work!

This was the first year that I didn't take the time to decorate for 4th of july. Seeing all of your fun stuff makes me want to get some out even though the holiday weekend is upon us.

I LOVE the flag with the pledge written on it. Great idea!!
