I have tried for years to grow them.I have only been successful once.
This year I decided to go faux with some realistic looking sunflowers. They're just as pretty but without the mess of hitchhiker bugs, falling pollen, and odd looks from strangers.
And I love how they look in my thrift store vintage brown bottles.

Soo pretty I love flowers also.
I love them also...they look great faux!!
How beautiful. I may need to get some clippers and head to the nearest empty lot. Sunflowers always remind me of my grandpa. He grew the biggest ones I've ever seen. He passed away last month and we used sunflowers in all of the florals and for the pallbarrers. Sunflowers will definitely always have a special place in my heart.
They look super in your vintage bottles :o) Very pretty.
Oh, I love your sunflowers! And you are absolutely right about trying to grow them! Most of our yard is not landscaped. The sunflowers grow all over and thrive, especially since I make no effort to water them. But, I planted tons of sunflowers in two places in my yard and only a single plant grew! It was supposed to be a Russian Mammoth that we could harvest the seeds from. But no, it decided to grow half a foot tall instead. Oh well, at least I still have the others. :)
Very pretty! I love sunflowers even if they're faux.:) I'm getting ready to decorate my garland outside with a fall theme that will include sunflowers.:)
Blessings,
Sandra
