I love the feeling of being home! I truly enjoy being surrounded by the people I love and the things that make me happy. I am passionate about finding joy in my home---which for me has a double meaning. My home is where I find comfort and discover who I am by using my talents and abilities.
I'm an avid thrift store shopper and collector. I love to create, re-purpose, design, re-invent and build all sorts of things.
I am passionate about helping others find the joy in their homes that I do in mine. And I believe that it doesn't take a lot of cash to do it.

There she sat at the thrift store lonely and rejected. I watched her as another customer picked her up, examined her, then put her back after deciding that she was made by and belonged in a little granny's home. I too picked her up to admire her handmade qualities; a floral pattern surrounded by diamonds on one side, and a geometric pattern on the other. I wondered how her maker had so seamlessly tucked a pillow form inside. Her one dollar price tag did not reflect the effort and love that had gone into her creation. It was then that I determined to adopt this little orphan and bring her into my home. She now resides happily in my living room with my other thrifted orphans, each adding to the beauty and greatness that is my winter couch.
How fantastic that you've rescued it! I always think of all the hours of work that goes into these things too - it's such a shame that they're disgarded for whatever reason.
She def. does not look like a misfit any longer. She was literally "made" for your couch. Keep sharing and reminding me and others of the simple things in life.

I think she's beautiful!! :)
You made the right choice. So much love went into making it - it deserves to sit on your couch with your other pretties.
I absolutely love it! She made a beautiful addition to your collection of lovelies!
someone else 'would' have adopted her...and you would've forever regretted it!

What a truly sweet post and what a truly lovely pillow! Oh yes! It looks perfect with your others. You have great taste.
I sometimes bring home rejected cross stitch pictures for your same reasons.
A dollar? She is definately worth more than a dollar.....she goes perfect with the others....

I loved reading your post. What a beautiful item you have rescued.
All those pillows go great together! I wish I had an eye for that stuff! Or even just pillows! I'll take just an eye for pillows.
