I love the feeling of being home! I truly enjoy being surrounded by the people I love and the things that make me happy. I am passionate about finding joy in my home---which for me has a double meaning. My home is where I find comfort and discover who I am by using my talents and abilities.
I'm an avid thrift store shopper and collector. I love to create, re-purpose, design, re-invent and build all sorts of things.
I am passionate about helping others find the joy in their homes that I do in mine. And I believe that it doesn't take a lot of cash to do it.

I was blessed to spend this past weekend in Washington DC watching thesebecause my daughter and son-in-law both graduated.Hooray for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course we did our fair share of sight seeing. But I also took some time to notice all of the little things that are often over looked. Beauty can always be found in the details, even within our own homes.
Congratulations on your kid's accomplishment Joy! That's just great! I remember when I was in the Smithsonian Castle that I noticed the beautiful tile work on the floor. You're so right - the beauty is in the details, but not many people see it!
There is so much to see in D.C.! What a special reason to be there. One of my favorite memories was happening upon a Veteran's Day ceremony at Arlington that I will NEVER forget.
Congrats to the kids!!! I love the photos. You should frame them & display them in your house somewhere. I'm afraid that we miss alot of the great details of life all around us. Your post will hopefully remind us to take the time to notice these details. There is so much beauty to be seen that we miss. I know I'm notorious for missing the details. And sometimes the big stuff too.
Joy! This is wonderful. congratulations to you and to them. Our daughter will graduate next week from high school and believe me we are all ready for it to be over with! hahha. What a lovely time you must have had! Yippeee for you and a heartfelt hug! Blessings, Debbie PS Did you cry? Be honest!
I'm so glad you and the hubby made it out! I know you're daughter was "overjoyed"! You both deserved an awesome vacation! Congrats your amazing family that I will always love.

The architecture in Washington is quite magnificent, isn't it?

You're soooo right! The beauty IS truly in the details!
I graduated this Spring, with my college degree. It took me a while (I'm 30-something!!) but it was so worth it.
