Change Is Constant

I love my living room couch. It's long and deep and comfy. A perfect couch for napping on. It originally came with a lot of pillows that looked like this: Because it's such a deep couch the pillows actually stay in place and don't end up on the floor. Because it's such a pretty shade of chocolate brown almost any color looks great with it. Perhaps that's why I enjoy changing out the pillows so often. It's a small change that can transform the feel of the entire room. Pillows can be very pricey, that's why I'm constantly on the look out at thrift stores and on clearance racks. I also use pillow covers to change my existing pillows. I've purchased covers at the thrift store and the dollar store.
Look here for a great tutorial on how to make pillow covers. When decorating with pillows I like to combine similar colors or tones and I find that I really like it when I can mix in a lot of pattern and texture. Do you like to change out your pillows too?

I actually just made pillow covers for our couch. They're so easy to make & are one of my fave ways to change things up! You can check them out on Project Pretty if you want! (cprojectpretty.blogspot.com)

Change is good too!

I don't change covers much, but I do move the pillows around throughout the house a lot.

Sometimes I do, especially at Xmas. But the ones that I normally use for winter just became too ratty! So, I'll be thrifting for new ones. (I wish I'd picked up those great ones at Value Village a few months ago.)

I don't change pillows too often. Just from spring/summer to fall/winter. I love changing out my throws during the whole year. We always keep a few out during the summer to snuggle under when the ac gets a little too cool.
Changing things out or around always seems to freshen a room about as much as moving furniture..which I no longer do.
I used to change it a lot..once I got a room large enuf to put my furniture where i really liked it, the desire to rearrange the big pieces is no longer there.

I love how pillows can change the look of anything. I make pillow covers constantly for cheap pillows I find on sale. My living room and front room never sit long without new pillows.
Its the best finding a great new pattern and changing a drab ugly pillow into something of beauty, don't you think? Thanks for sharing!

I actually just changed up my couch pillows! I pulled ones from my bedroom and brought them out to blend the current couch pillows with the quilty, craftyness of my living room. Before it just seemed so bland and a major lack of cohesivness.

Your home is lovely. What color is that on your walls? Is that yellow? How very nice! I'm obsessed with pillows on my couch! Oh they bring me joy... The fluffier the better.

I know this post was about your couch but I'm totally intrigued by what's on that dresser in one of the pictures! I wish I could see what's on it better!
