Small But Sweet

Before I left my daughter to go back home to the real world, she requested that I decorate her apartment for fall.Occasionally someone will leave me a comment, after I've shared holiday photos of my home, saying things like, "I wish I could decorate for the holidays but my home is too small." Or, "I can't afford to decorate." Or "I have no place to store decorations." Hopefully these photos will inspire those who live in smaller homes. My daughter keeps holiday decorations in plastic containers tucked under their bed. Most of the decorations were purchased at the dollar store, thrift store, or discount store. And as far as room to display, that's easy!
Place a few on top of furniture.
Clear a spot on a table or chest.Tuck them into a bookshelf.Replace candles for decorations.Hang 'em on a coat rack.

I have lived in 'smaller' places for years..but always had to find room to decorate for the holidays. Your daughter's apartment looks great. Thanks for sharing!

I actually love smaller spaces better than larger ones. They are cozier, and I think they are easier to decorate. Very cute! I'm still green with envy over the mirrored table.

I can't imagine a place too small for holiday decorations! You can always find room SOMEWHERE! Love what you did!

I am bummed i wasn't able to join in on girls night, you have done such wonderful things to everyones apartments. Don't you just love Unique, its one on my favorite places in the whole world. Next time you come out i am going to have to have you help me if we ever are able to buy a house. I might just have to start emailing you photos of my place for your advice. :) ps we love your daughter!

This is great advice. I only really decorate for the fall season, a.k.a halloween, and christmas. I love shopping at the dollars stores for these decorations, they are great items and I don't feel guilty about buying them if they are a dollar! Thanks for more advice on what else I can do for decorating.

I like your ideas of decoration placement. Sometimes I struggle with this since we live in a smallish townhouse.
