Change With That Sale

Look what I found on the garden clearance!
Isn't it a fun accent?
Although I like the rusty finish, it doesn't match
the other garden accents in my front yard.

So there's just one thing to do---
get out the spray paint!

Can you guess which color?I like it even more now!
It's lost it's rustic qualities and has found it's elegance. It looks so nice on my front porch,
with the fake grass that I don't have to water.
It looks so nice that I'm feeling the need to change out my porch decor.
Doesn't this bouquet look summer-y?
I rescued that metal thing from someone's garbage pile.
I bought new pillows at the thrift store
for my old church bench.

And the frame came from there too.
The topiary is one of those items that gets moved
all around my house.
I need a rest from the heat of the summer
and they say "a change is as good as a rest"
.
I think they may be right!

Great changes. I am so looking forward to a Jr League Yard sale that I am going to with my daughter next weekend, hopefully to pick up some changes.

Hi Joy,
I love seeing the small do-able projects that you post! You have inspired me. I won't ever look at a box with a fish decal on it in the same way....and just because something is one color when you buy it...if you like it, then the color can be changed. You're a great teacher!

You have great taste...your porch looks wonderful!
Have a great day,
diane

I agree about the change and the rest. Looks great. Excatly what store has all their garden items on clearance. You must share the news. I love those pillows, they look like they were made for the bech. I am jealous that you have a church pew. I have always wanted one. Still on the lookout at the thrift stores.

Joy, just how many cans of black spray paint do you have laying about? We have a small garden centre at one of our grocery stores and they have their outdoor stuff all marked down. I saw something similar to what you bought, but not near as nice as yours. And the pot at the bottom is a neat idea. I'll bet you'll have lots of fun changing it out for the seasons. Love the bench too!

ps. I posted my newest project, finally got the DH to take my pics of the camera. I'd love to hear your suggestions. :)

Again, lovely as always. I like the black crisp look out there. I have been trying to work on my curb appeal of my house. I wish I had as many ideas (and space) as you do!

I've been eyeing that same piece at Hobby Lobby for weeks now. I kept thinking, "I can just paint it." But your visual of it is spectacular! I love how it looks on the porch. How adorable everything looks together!

What a great porch. Love the empty frame. So whimsical. Where did you get your church pew?

Joy said...

My church pew actually came from the church I grew up in. They replaced the old benches with upholstered ones. It was originally double that size, but my talented hubby cut it and made two from one. The other one didn't have side pieces. We gave it to a neighbor.
We've had the bench for several years! It used to be white, then I painted it black and now it's got an aged crackly look with the white showing through (Nature did it. I didn't)

The door arrangement looks great for a pop of color and I love the blank frame outdoors.

From yesterdays post I am amazed at the table. I am on the hunt for a few cabinent doors!

I also really like the numbers on the half finished re-purposed clock.
