Shedding Some Light

Isn't it wonderful how even the smallest of light can warm up a room. I enjoy having small lights on in my home all day long. So it wouldn't surprise you to know that if I find a small light at the thrift store, I usually buy it. This is my newest acquisition.Oh yes, you know that it's going to be transformed with spray paint.
I'm actually going to give it a whole new look by replacing the socket cover with one that looks like a melting candle. The light bulb will be replaced with a silicone covered bulb, that I really, really, really like the look of. (I know you're going to ask where I buy them, so I'll tell you that the bulbs can be found in craft stores, lighting stores and even in some fabric stores. The socket covers are found where other lighting supply things can be found.)
Now it looks like a sweet little candlelight. It's the perfect addition to my collection.
PS
I am so forgetful! I really need to thank sweet Jackie at Empty Nest Full Life. She gave me this award last week. Thank you so very much!

Very cute! I wish we still had a thrift store here. Sadly they have all closed.
All we have now are antique stores and you know I'm not going in there to find a bargain. So enjoy your stores!

I like that it would be a pretty addition to Christmas decor. Where did you get the flame bulbs and candle looking covers?

Another great project from you!

I am on a lighting quest lately, too. Ever since I saw Susie Harris' lamp in her kitchen...I have since added 2 lamps to my kitchen and one to my living room...and I have a feeling I won't be stopping there, I just love the accent lighting, it so much cozier.

Fantastic find and fantastic makeover for it, as always :)

Beautiful...I love the reflection it casts in the old window. I got one of those little lights with the candle like bulbs with a star as the base. Now I know where to get one when it burns out. Love your mantle....smiles, cherry

Your mantle looks so pretty. I always struggle with mantles. I too love these little lamps. I have a couple of them in my kitchen. They definitely make the room feel and look cozy!

I always see random little lights like that at goodwill, now I'll have to snatch one up because I will know what to do with it! I love it!

I love it. You are so talented with a can of spray paint. I'm like you, I love to have little lights on throughout my house, it just makes it feel more cozy, especially in the winter time.

This is awesome! I never knew those socket covers existed. I want some for my kitchen chandelier. I will be on the look out for them.

Re: Big Lots

You will have to let me know how that paint works...I have looked at it every time I go there, but have wondered about the quality, so I have not bought any yet. You never know, it might be really good!

Thanks :)

Bella
PS: I can't wait for the Farrell collection to go even cheaper...in June, I think it was 30% off, now it's 50% off...hoping it will go lower. I bet it will because they have had the same display in my store for 2 months now...it's not really moving off of the shelves. I think it is probably kind of an expensive line for Big Lots anyways.

Rae, That's a picture of one wall in my dining area that's open to my living room.
